Dark red or gray stoneware clay is used to create dinnerware and decorative vessels. The clay is thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel or slowly built by hand.
It is first fired to a "biscuit" stage in an electric kiln. At this point it is ready for the final firing. Kelly fires in Electric, Raku, Salt/Soda, Gas and Wood Kilns.
Each type of firing enhances a certain surface quality that contributes to the beauty of the form.
