Welcome to Kelly Barone Pottery online. The strength and beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina and the Adirondack mountains of New York inspire the designs for functional and decorative stoneware and porcelain pottery . Each piece is carefully crafted to enhance your collection.
I hope you will soon visit my new studio at 74 Alpine Way in Weaverville, N.C. Please contact me if you would like a studio tour and to look at the newest inventory of stoneware and porcelain fresh from the kiln!
Designs in both stoneware and porcelain can be decorative or functional. Some popular decorative stoneware vessels are Raku fired. Decorative birch is stoneware design inspired from the birch trees abundant in the breathtaking New York State Adirondack Mountains. Each piece is carved with an eye toward the juxtaposition of symmetry of the horizontal lines and the surprise that occurs with age and weathering of the bark. Porcelain may look delicate and formal as in the celadon blue functional ware or have the rustic marks of salt and soda or wood firing.
